01A week before the exam
- One last timed simulation at the same time of day as your real exam.
- Review your list of repeated mistakes, not the whole syllabus.
- Confirm the test centre location and entry requirements on the Qiyas website.
02The last 48 hours
- No new questions; a light revision of formulas only.
- 7–8 hours of sleep on two consecutive nights.
- Prepare your ID and permitted items the evening before.
03Inside the exam hall
- Start with the questions whose method you know; flag the hard ones and come back.
- Never leave a question blank; there is no negative marking in the GAT.
- Check the clock every 10 questions, not every question.
- In comprehension: questions before the passage.
- If you feel nervous: take three deep breaths and move to an easy question.
04After the exam
Do not discuss the questions with classmates right away; it does not help and can add anxiety. If you plan to retake the test, note immediately which question types felt hard so you can target your next round of practice.
FAQ
Is there negative marking in the GAT?
No, a wrong answer does not deduct marks, so answer every question.
How many times can I take the GAT?
Qiyas allows the test to be taken more than once under its rules, and the score is counted according to the Commission’s published policy. Check the Qiyas website for current details.
